I confess, I own a pair of cheap sunglasses. Actually, those are the only sunglasses I own. And now that I am continually required to wear them in the presence of my sons (that is if I actually want them to venture in the same room with me and my bruised swollen post-blapharoplasty eyes), that’s kind of a problem. Why? Because I can’t wear contact lenses for the next 3 weeks and my cheap sunglasses are not prescription. I confess, I hate ice packs! I’m wayyyyy too hyper and impatient to sit still holding an ice pack to some part of my body – especially when it is my eyes so I can’t even watch something to distract me. And then I also really hate being cold! When I’m already chilled, the last thing I want to do is hold a big old frozen piece of something up to my head so that it can bring on a brain freeze type headache. Yes, I’m having a minor tantrum over having to spend two and half hours a day icing my elective blepharoplasty surgery swollen eyes. It’s really kind of pathetic. Read the rest of this entry »
I confess, I’m feeling a little remorse over the whole vanity surgery thing. Not because my eyes are swollen and its slightly uncomfortable. Not because I can’t go out in public for a few days so that I don’t scare other little children besides my own. And not because I just spent a chunk of money that could have gone into remodeling my home or my children’s college fund. I confess, I’m having cosmetic surgery today – yes, I’m as vain as all those women I’ve made fun of for years (including my grandmother). The thing is my eyelids are droopy and not only is there really no point in applying more than one color of eye shadow anymore, but I’m getting headaches (and more wrinkles) from scrunching up my forehead to keep my eyes open all day.
