Confessions of an Evil Working Mom

Hi there!

I confess, Emily Watkins Marino is not my real name. I wanted this blog to be anonymous, but it’s always nice to have a name to relate to so I made one up with the same initials as my handle Evil Working Mom – get it?  But I am in fact an Evil Working Mom (EWM).  “Working” meaning I work outside my home.  “Evil” meaning like many of my fellow working moms, I often feel guilty about not making my family my full-time job.  And yet, despite my guilt and Dr. Laura’s disapproval, I continue to work in the world of commerce during the day (and late at night) while concentrating on my family in the early mornings, evenings and weekends.

I admit it, this blog is pure self-indulgence – its all about relieving my guilt through honest and open confession.  But my hope is that it might help a few of my sisters out there feel a little less guilty too – after all, if you are like me then you are not alone.  So I hope reading about my issues makes you feel better about yours and maybe even gives you a giggle here and there.
